That’s what i’ve been doing and that is a sollution, but i want to acieve very spesific things with the fluid so i would have to test bake it again and again. Just waiting for someone to share it with us… (please?) I believe there’s a better way to do this. Here’s an example blend showing this technique (you’ll need to bake the domain, obviously, to see it in action): The downside to this approach is that it would still have to do the fluid calculations for thousands of frames before it could get to the real sim… One thing I just found that kind of works is to animate the position of an inflow object (instead of using a fluid object) so it remains outside the domain until you want the flow to take place. And the “Time” setting for the fluid domain (with the “Start” and “End” parameters) is used to control the speed of the simulation (fast-motion or slow-motion, e.g.), not when the inflow actually begins. I used to think all you needed to do was set the Start and End in the timeline, but I tried it and it still calculates from 0 to the current End time. I’m with you moose, but I can’t find anywhere to set the beginning of the sim… (This is why I’m hoping for someone who knows this stuff better to chime in.)
